BAR TABS: WHO HAD THE TOP ALCOHOL SALES?
Circuit of the Americas leads list of top bar tabs in Texas in October.
Austin’s Circuit of the Americas had the highest bar tabs in all of Texas in October, according to an American-Statesman analysis of state data.
The venue, which hosted Formula 1 racing and related festivities Oct. 21-23, sold $2,354,337.91 worth of beer, wine and mixed spirits, topping AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Citywide, alcohol sales at Austin bars, restaurants and hotels totaled $64.7 million, up 9 percent compared with the same month last year.
Across Texas, receipts were up 2 percent, hitting $527.5 million.
After Circuit of the Americas, the JW Marriott hotel, 110 E. Second St., was next on the list of top-selling businesses, with bartenders there pouring $906,710 worth of booze.
Rose Room, 11500 Rock Rose Ave., ranked third, coming in at $521,670.
