Al­berto leads win over Ok­la­homa City

Hanser Al­berto had three hits, in­clud­ing a three-run home run, and four RBIs as the Round Rock Ex­press topped the Ok­la­homa City Dodgers 8-4 Thurs­day night at Dell Di­a­mond in Round Rock.

The win was the sev­enth in eight tries for the Ex­press. Round Rock has won 14 of its last 18 Pa­cific Coast League con­tests.

Up 3-2, the Ex­press added to their lead in the fourth in­ning when Al­berto home­red with Cliff Pen­ning­ton and Juan Cen­teno on base.

The Ex­press (44-66) tacked on two runs in the eighth when Cen­teno hit an RBI double and scored on a sin­gle by Al­berto.

Round Rock starter Tyler Wag­ner (1-3) picked up the win de­spite al­low­ing four runs and seven hits over five in­nings. He had a sea­son-high six strike­outs. Jef­frey Springs pitched two score­less in­nings for his first save of the sea­son.

Ok­la­homa City starter Daniel Cor­cino (2-2) took the loss af­ter a rough out­ing in which he al­lowed six runs and eight hits over 3⅓ in­nings.

Andy Ibanez went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI for Round Rock. Drew Robin­son and Wil­lie Cal­houn each drove home a run for the Ex­press.

Scott Heine­man had a hit for Round Rock a day af­ter set­ting a record in the Triple-A All-Star Game with four stolen bases Wed­nes­day. The Pa­cific Coast League de­feated the In­ter­na­tional League 12-7 with the help of Ex­press closer R.J. Al­varez, who recorded a strike­out.
