Alberto leads win over Oklahoma City

Hanser Alberto had three hits, including a three-run home run, and four RBIs as the Round Rock Express topped the Oklahoma City Dodgers 8-4 Thursday night at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

The win was the seventh in eight tries for the Express. Round Rock has won 14 of its last 18 Pacific Coast League contests.

Up 3-2, the Express added to their lead in the fourth inning when Alberto homered with Cliff Pennington and Juan Centeno on base.

The Express (44-66) tacked on two runs in the eighth when Centeno hit an RBI double and scored on a single by Alberto.

Round Rock starter Tyler Wagner (1-3) picked up the win despite allowing four runs and seven hits over five innings. He had a season-high six strikeouts. Jeffrey Springs pitched two scoreless innings for his first save of the season.

Oklahoma City starter Daniel Corcino (2-2) took the loss after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and eight hits over 3⅓ innings.

Andy Ibanez went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI for Round Rock. Drew Robinson and Willie Calhoun each drove home a run for the Express.

Scott Heineman had a hit for Round Rock a day after setting a record in the Triple-A All-Star Game with four stolen bases Wednesday. The Pacific Coast League defeated the Internatio­nal League 12-7 with the help of Express closer R.J. Alvarez, who recorded a strikeout.
