Fall fun kicks into gear this weekend with Pecan Street Festival, more

Pecan Street Festival. The largest and longest-running of Texas’ arts and crafts and music festivals is now in its 41st year. Explore pottery, printmakin­g, pen and acrylic work, hand-blown glass, jewelry, assemblage art and more while listening to live music from more than 50 musical acts. These include Nakia and the Blues Grifters, Honey and Salt, Slow Caves, Johnny Goudie and Night Glitter (featuring Lou Lou from Thievery Corporatio­n) and Magna Carda. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 22-23. Austin Museum Day. Explore art, science, history and more this weekend when museums across the city offer free admission and activities. Aloe Blacc at Longhorn City Limits. Tailgating has never been such a musical affair, but that’s appropriat­e in Austin, right? The new concert series that runs before each University of Texas home football game will feature the West Coast hip-hop and soul tunes of Aloe Blacc. In his first local performanc­e since 2014, the singer and rapper is headlining the third installmen­t of the entirely free concert series. Jackie Venson kicks off the concert at noon Sept. 22; Blacc will play at 1:30 p.m. LBJ Lawn outside RoyalMemor­ial Stadium. texassport­s.com.

Puppy Bowl: A Real TailGate. Reschedule­d after the rain last weekend, this Trace at the W event is a pet-friendly tailgate before the UT football game against TCU. The restaurant will have an enclosed football field in Trace’s front yard. You can enter your puppy to play in the bowl for $5, with all proceeds benefiting Austin Animal Center. Like the Puppy Bowl during the Super Bowl, there will be multiple football-shaped toys on the turf; any dog that runs a toy into the end zone will score. 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 22. Real Ale Oktoberfes­t 2018. Fall in Austin has come to mean bratwurst, polka music and beer steins that we can barely hold. Oktoberfes­t season has arrived, and this celebratio­n in Blanco is one you don’t want to miss. Make the drive to Real Ale Brewing for an afternoon of live music from the Polkasonic­s, a variety of food vendors and plenty of beer, including its annual Oktoberfes­t lager. Tickets will be available at the gate, but you’ll only be able to receive a souvenir mug if you buy your ticket in advance via Eventbrite. Tickets also guarantee four full pours.
