First-gen­er­a­tion W460 mod­els were ex­tremely ca­pa­ble ma­chines: 80 per­cent grades and 54 per­cent lat­eral tilts were doable, though it might take a bit of pa­tience be­cause of the mildly en­dowed en­gines.

From the start, the G-Class came in open­top vari­ants, such as this 460 from 1979.
