INAUGURAL JAPANESE AUTOMOTIVE INVITATIONAL PRESENTED BY INFINITI

Since 1950, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® has brought the best and boldest of automotive design and performance to California’s Monterey Peninsula. This year, Japan’s rich automaking heritage received its spot in the limelight thanks to a partnership between INFINITI and the Motor Trend Group. Showcasing dozens of influential Japanese vehicles spanning the decades from INFINITI and other makes, including a fleet of vintage Datsun and Nissan race machines and impressive restorations like JDM Legends host Eric Bizek’s stunning ’72 “Hakosuka” Nissan Skyline GT-R, the inaugural Japanese Automotive Invitational near the INFINITI Pavilion proved itself a hit.

INFINITI OF TOMORROW... AND YESTERDAY

Spotlighting the legacy and contribution of Japanese carmaking, INFINITI showed the latest (and future) evolution of Japanese luxury design, engineering and craftsmanship. The INFINITI Q Inspiration concept stole the show, with its elegant form, striking lines and suite of cuttingedge innovations, like its highperformance e-Power electrification and future-ready collection of ProPILOT driver-assist technologies.

Just behind it stood a cutaway of the INFINITI VC-Turbo engine, showing in detail the multi-link mechanism behind its variable compression technology that allows for high-compression fuel efficiency and big, turbocharged horsepower.

Best yet, the VC-Turbo engine and select ProPILOT driver-assist technologies are available at dealerships today in the all-new 2019 INFINITI QX50 crossover.

PROJECTION INSTALLATION

Bold design. Innovative thinking. World’s first technologies. INFINITI’s past, present, and future were all on display at the INFINITI Pavilion. Bridging the past with the present, the cutting-edge projection mapping display took viewers on an immersive journey through their Japanese heritage, and its influence on their design process, while using the all-new INFINITI QX50 as its canvas.
