Few is­sues di­vide BACK­PACKER read­ers like stack­ing rocks. When we shared the Leave No Trace ar­gu­ment against it (“Rock Re­morse,” June 2018), re­tired bi­ol­o­gist Juer­gen Schrenk sug­gested the whole thing was mak­ing a moun­tain out of a rock pile. “Any im­pact of [mov­ing rocks] is neg­li­gi­ble, if there is one at all.” We asked our Twit­ter and Face­book fol­low­ers: Are you for or against stack­ing rocks as art?
