AROUND THE HORN

-

■ Nationals: RHP Stephen Strasburg gave up Joey Votto’s tworun homer and limped off the field a few pitches later, and the Reds overcame two rain delays to win 6-3. The Nationals had won Strasburg’s last 15 starts, which was the longest active streak in the majors. Now the NL East leaders have concerns about whether their ace will have to miss time. Strasburg grabbed his right calf on a pitch to Brandon Phillips. He left shortly after. Jay Bruce also homered off Strasburg, who struck 10 and became the first Nationals pitcher to strike out 1,000 in his career.

■ Red Sox: David Ortiz drove in two runs, giving him an MLB-leading 51, in a 6-4 victory over the Blue Jays. Mookie Betts also drove in two runs as the Red Sox snapped a three-game slide.

■ Cardinals: Jeff Samardzija couldn’t hold a four-run lead, surrendering four home runs in a nine-batter span as the Cards beat the Giants 7-4. Brandon Moss and Aledmys Diaz homered in the fifth, and Stephen Piscotty and Matt Adams did likewise in the sixth. Diaz’s blast was a three-run shot.

■ Mets: Michael Conforto ended an 0-for-20 skid with an RBI single in the eighth and scored the tiebreaking run on Matt Reynolds’ two-out pinch single in a 6-4 win over the Marlins. Conforto, who also hit a sacrifice fly, was a last-minute addition to the lineup when slugger Yoenis Cespedes was scratched (hip).

■ Marlins: Team President David Samson said the family of Muhammad Ali was not unhappy about the Marlins’ premature tribute to him. “I reached out to someone very close to the family,” Samson said. “Everything is fine.” The Marlins displayed a photo of Ali on their video board Friday indicating he had died — more than two hours before Ali’s family announced his death. Samson said the tribute came after he confirmed Ali’s death with someone close to the boxer. “There’s no way I would have broken the news of Muhammad Ali’s passing,” he said. “As far as I knew it had already been made public.”
