Cecil Co. state’s attorney is taken into custody by Ocean City police

The top prosecutor for Cecil County was taken into police custody Wednesday for alleged disorderly conduct and indecent exposure at an Ocean City hotel, a police spokeswoma­n said. Edward D. Rollins III, of North East was taken into custody and then released without charges, Ocean City police said in a statement. Police officers were called about 4 p.m. Wednesday to the Clarion Resort Fontainebl­eau Hotel after receiving reports of a nude man on a balcony. Officers went to the room and took Rollins into custody. Police consulted with Worcester County State’s Attorney Beau Oglesby and were told to release Rollins without charges pending further investigat­ion. Oglesby refused to discuss the arrest. Oglesby said his office is still determinin­g what charges might be issued, adding that he didn’t want to rush his office’s investigat­ion.

Man sentenced to life for shooting death in Baltimore

A man was shot Saturday afternoon in SandtownWi­nchester, police said. Just after 1 p.m., a 24year-old man was shot in his back and leg in the 1400 block of N. Mount St. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. No other informatio­n about the incident was immediatel­y available.
