OF Aaron Hicks, 2B Starlin Castro and SS Didi Gregorious also went deep for the Yankees. ■ Blue Jays: C Russell Martin hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth inning, RHP Aaron Sanchez threw seven innings to get his first win in three starts and the Blue Jays beat the Astros 4-2. Sanchez (12-2) allowed five hits and lowered his ERA to 2.84, the second-lowest in the American League. 3B Josh Donaldson also homered for the Jays, who have won seven of nine meetings with the Astros this season. ■ Indians: Of Michael Brantley, who has played in only 11 games this season for the AL Central leaders, will undergo seasonending surgery on his right shoulder Monday. Brantley was third in the 2014 AL MVP voting and batted over .300 each of the last two seasons. ■ Cardinals: OF Matt Holliday was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured thumb. Holliday suffered the injury Thursday against the Cubs when he was hit by a pitch. RHP Luke Weaver was promoted from Triple-A Memphis. ■ Dodgers: OF Joc Pederson homered and finished with three hits to lead the Dodgers to an 8-4 victory over the Pirates. LHP Clayton Kershaw took another step forward in his attempt to return to the rotation this season by playing catch for the second day in a row.
