3 LIFE & TRAVEL SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2019 | | THE BALTIMORE SUN HER ENSEMBLE: KARL MERTON FERRON/BALTIMORE SUN PHOTOS Nicole Smith attended the Health Care for the Homeless Chocolate Affair. If there was a certain feeling of “frenzy” among the 800-plus guests mingling in the Marriott Waterfront Hotel mezzanine, it was hardly a surprise. Not when chocolate was the night’s main attraction. This was Health Care for the Homeless’ annual Chocolate Affair gala. Seven local food vendors had set up stations along the hallway, serving chocolate-inspired hors d’oeuvres to kick off the $250-a-ticket shindig. Then it was into the ballroom for a seated dinner where chocolate was in every course. Entrees offered choices like filet mignon topped with chocolatebarbecue pulled beef or a cocoa-dusted mushroom quinoa cake. And dessert? Guests had their pickings of chocolaty delights from nine food stations.
