Is­lan­ders push home win­ning streak to 6

An­thony Beauvil­lier scored in over­time to lift the Is­lan­ders to a 3-2 win over the Sabres on Satur­day, ex­tend­ing the Is­lan­ders’ home win­ning streak to six games.

Beauvil­lier scored on a break­away at 3:04 against Sabres goalie Li­nus Ull­mark for his 10th goal of the sea­son. He fin­ished off a se­quence in OT in which he got tan­gled up with Ull­mark in the crease, then was tripped in the Sabres zone be­fore he cor­ralled the puck for the win­ner.

The Is­lan­ders im­proved to 13-2-1 over­all be­tween Nas­sau Coli­seum and Bar­clays Cen­ter, while the Sabres had their three­game win streak snapped.

Se­myon Var­malov made 33 saves for the vic­tory.

Jor­dan Eberle had a goal early in the third to give the Is­lan­ders a 2-1 lead, but Sabres cap­tain Jack Eichel tied it with a power-play goal at 18:14 af­ter the Sabres pulled Ull­mark for an ex­tra skater.

Eichel has ex­tended his points streak to 16 games when he as­sisted on Victor Olof­s­son’s sec­ond-pe­riod goal.

One-timers: An­thony Du­clair scored on the power play in OT to com­plete the hat trick against his for­mer team and give the Sen­a­tors a 4-3 home win against the Blue Jack­ets . ... James Reimer made 32 stops and War­ren Foegele scored twice as the vis­it­ing Hur­ri­canes ended the Flames’ seven-game win­ning streak with a 4-0 vic­tory.
