Mount St. Mary’s falls in overtime

The Mount St. Mary’s men’s lacrosse team started strong with a three-goal run, but host St. Joseph’s forced overtime and won 14-13, on Saturday. The game featured five ties.

Matt Haggerty gave the Mount (1-7, 0-3 Northeast Conference) a 13-12 lead with 1:28 left in regulation. Matt Bohmer scored the tying goal with six seconds left in regulation for the Hawks (4-3, 4-0). Ryan Doran had the game-winner with 3:05 left in overtime.

Salisbury 26, Stockton 6: T.J. Ellis (W, 6-1) made five saves and the host Sea Gulls (6-1) won a 20-goal decision over the Ospreys (0-1). Salisbury was led by Jarrett Bromwell with six goals and Cross Ferrara and Josh Melton with four goals apiece.

The Sea Gulls have won six straight and host Christophe­r Newport on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Frostburg State 21, Molloy 4: The host Bobcats (4-0) went on an 8-0 run over the second and third quarters and beat the Lions (1-5). Paul Ruppert (Severna Park), Jason Clinton and Dylan Griffiths each had a hat trick for Frostburg State.

Washington College 13, McDaniel 4: The visiting Shoremen improved to 2-1 and the Green Terror fell to 0-2.

Widener 15, Hood 9: The visiting Pride (4-1, 3-1 MAC Commonweal­th) went on a 6-2 run in the third quarter to break a 5-5 tie and pull away from the Blazers (1-2, 1-1). Cody Upman (Manchester Valley) had a game-high five goals for Hood.

Holy Cross at No. 16 Navy, cnd.: The game between the Crusaders (1-3, 0-2 Patriot League) and host Mids (2-0, 0-0) was canceled because of COVID-19 protocols at Navy. After a monthlong pause, the Mids will host Bucknell (1-2, 0-2) at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Howard Community College at St. Mary’s, ppd.: The game between the Dragons (2-0) and host Seahawks (2-4) was postponed to a date to be determined. St. Mary’s will host Hampden-Sydney at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
