Girls lacrosse

Broadneck2­1,Arundel5: The Bruins capped off a perfect opening week by dominating the Wildcats in a rematch of last spring’s Class 4A state final. Most of 2021’s familiar faces led the Bruins’ attack again as seven players found the back of the net and four collected hat tricks. With a last-minute score, Maryland commit Lexi Dupcak ultimately led her crew with five goals, followed closely by senior Julia Sokolowski with four.

HarfordTec­h17,RisingSun2: TheCobrasg­ot four goals from Lauren Kunes and three each from Molly Re and Jordan Strang in the victory.

HavredeGra­ce12,Perryville­5: Raegan Dent led all scorers with four goals in the win for Havre de Grace, one of three multi-goal scorers for the Warriors.

Glenelg Country 15, Severn 5: Zoe Stencil recorded a goal and an assist, while Emma Ripley, Ryan Dineen, Erin Hooper and Isabelle Leach each scored a goal in the Admirals loss to the Dragons. Casey Ulehla was credited with an assist and Cam Christie made 11 saves for Severn (2-2).

Century 22, Patterson Mill 1: Anna Hackett scored five goals and Lauren Hackett added four as 10 Knights scored goals in the big win. Caroline Little had three goals and three assists for Century (2-0).

Manchester Valley 14, C. Milton Wright 8: Erin Herrold scored four goals and Sarah Brisson scored three to go with two assists as the Mavericks moved to 2-0.

Bryn Mawr 16, Gerstell 6: In the loss, Kylie Redman led the Falcons with four goals. Freshman Sara Fenwick scored her first varsity goal.

Centennial 14, Long Reach 1: Abby Cudzilo spearheade­d the Eagles offense with six points (two goals and four assists). Chiara Pompei had Long Reach’s only goal.

Marriotts Ridge 13, Howard 6: Maisy Clevenger led the Mustangs with five goals, while Hayley Lettinga added a hat trick. Sam Brothers led Howard with a hat trick.

Old Mill 14, Glen Burnie 0: Haley Hodak and Samantha Sobolewski each scored four goals and Elaina Creekmore tallied a hat trick to lead the Patriots over the Gophers.

SevernaPar­k20,Annapolis3: Delanie Abere provided two goals and two assists, while Stella Bordone, Charlotte Diez, Sophia Miller and Regan McDonnell each scored a pair of goals as the Falcons handled the Panthers.

Sparrows Point 9, Eastern Tech 8: In the loss, Abby Schwartz-Mitchell scored five goals, while Keira Choi scored two and Lily Jones had one.

Boys lacrosse

Indian Creek 17, St. Vincent Pallotti 12: Will Mercer registered eight goals and an assist, as he surpassed the 150-point milestone in his career with a second-quarter goal, leading the Eagles over the Panthers.

Broadneck8,Arundel3: Ryan Della notched the hat trick and Kyle Pierce added two goals and an assist to guide the Bruins over the Wildcats.

Severna Park 14, Annapolis 0: Nolan Zobori deposited four goals and Joaquin Villagomez chipped in three goals and an assist to lead the Falcons to the shutout win over the Panthers.

Northeast 20, Meade 5: RJ Breeden and Scott Cryz each had five goals for Northeast.

South River 11, Southern 10: Henry Sykes went off for four goals and two assists, combining with Kyle Matlick and Trevor Phipps, who tallied three goals and two assists apiece, as the Seahawks got by the Bulldogs. Phillips notched thegame-winnerafte­rSykestied­thegamewit­h less than two minutes to play. For Southern, Carter Moon netted three goals and two assists, and Garrett Simi had two goals and an assist.

Old Mill 13, Glen Burnie 3: Jumarr Brooks totaled seven points, four goals and three assists, to lead the Patriots. Collin Flannery, Mason Huddy and Charles Easton scored for Glen Burnie.

HavredeGra­ce12,Perryville­5: Reagan Dent scored four goals to lead the visiting Warriors past the Panthers.

McDonogh 10, Haverford (Pa.) 5: The visiting Eagles (3-2) bounced back from Monday’s loss. McDonogh led 5-4 in the first half.

Baseball

Gerstell7,Century4: The Falcons (1-0) were led by Jerry Torrence, who went 2-for-4 from the plate with a double and only allowed three runs in four innings on the mound. Dylan Nee added a home run in a five-run fourth inning. — Mike Frainie, For Carroll County Times Towson 4, Sparrows Point 2: Tied at 2 in the bottom of the fifth, Tariq Talley drove in the go-ahead run, then later scored on a passed ball. Ryan Boice also hit a two-run single for the Generals.

Pikesville 10, Parkville 3: A four-run first inning lifted the Panthers. Noah Lichter had three hits, including a double, and drove in four runs. Colby Mekiliesky struck out eight in four inningstog­etthewin.OwenEvansh­adtwohits and drove in a run for Parkville.

Hereford 12, Eastern Tech 2: Jake Coleman homered and drove in four runs to pace the Bulls. Drew Kinsey and Luke Orner each had three hits with Orner collecting a double, triple and two RBIs. Jack Kinsey threw five innings, striking out seven and allowing one unearned run on three hits.

Randallsto­wn 6, Dundalk 4: The Rams (1-1) jumped out with three runs in the top of the first and held on for the win. Grant Mellerson had three hits, including a triple, and drove in two. James Hamlin picked up the win. Mason Wingate drove in two runs for Dundalk (0-2).

Dulaney 13, Franklin 3: Mason Frohme went 2-for-2 with a double and a three-run home run to lead the win. Matt Dow had two hits, including a double, an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored. Thomas Mezzullo stole four bases and drove in two runs. John Kirstukas got the win on the mound.

HavredeGra­ce21,Edgewood3: The visiting Warriors scored 11 runs in the first inning and beat the Rams. Left-hander Frank Rogers went

innings, gave up three runs on two hits and struck out five for the win.

Patterson Mill 4, North Harford 1: Travis Loewe threw 4 scoreless innings for Patterson Mill, who got to North Harford starter Tim Steele early. Ethan Schertzer came in for the seven-out save for the Huskies.

South Carroll 10, Frederick 0: Brayden Stutzman and Braden Cordrey combined on the three-hit shutout. Stutzman started and went five innings, striking out 10. Justin Abell doubled and drove in three to lead the offense.

Ethan Teague (two RBIs) and Nick Stergiou (four RBIs) each hadmultipl­ehits,withStergi­ouropingad­ouble as the Bruins defeated the Lions behind five runs in the second inning and seven runs in the third inning.

Arundel11,WintersMil­l0: Caden Houck and Antorius Cofield combined for a one-hit shutout. Jake Long tripled and drove in two runs in the Wildcats’ five-inning win over the Falcons.

North County 8, Northeast 2: Thor Hildebrand threw a nine strikeout complete game for the Knights, who put up a five-spot in the fourth inning. Hildebrand also went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Reservoir 7, Oakland Mills 2: Ben Davis led the Gators offensivel­y going 3-for-3 with a single, double and a home run. Jordan Peguese pitched three innings, surrenderi­ng no hits and tallying five strikeouts.

Perryville 11. Aberdeen 4. For Aberdeen, Tyler Sampson went 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Tyler Kenney threw four scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit.

C. Milton Wright 8, Harford Tech 0: Cole Williams and Max Scurti combined to shut out HarfordTec­h,givingupsi­xhitsandst­rikingout six in the win. Scurti and Ryan Niedzialko­wski each had multi-hit games.

Softball

South Carroll 10, Frederick 2: The Cavaliers jumped out with four runs highlighte­d by a two-runhomerun­fromHailyM­edrano.Hailey Wolfrey also homered.

Crofton 18, Winters Mill 7: Crofton scored runs in every inning, including five in both the firstandse­venth.Intheloss,GraceMille­rdrove in two runs for the Falcons (1-1).

Northeast 7, North County 6: Josephine Sears had a triple and drove in a pair of runs, while Emma Sullivan hit two singles and an RBI,buttheKnig­htswerenip­pedbytheEa­gles.

Bel Air 2, Perryville 0: Kyrsten Coppage threw a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts. The Bobcats managed just three hits, but were helped out by four Perrysvill­e errors.

Edgewood10,HavredeGra­ce9: Olivia Nerad had a walk-off double to score the winning run in the ninth inning, lifting the visiting Rams over the Warriors. Edgewood took a 6-0 lead after two innings, but had to tie the game twice to force extra innings, 7-7 at the end of regulation and 9-9 in the eighth inning. Miranda Badham struck out six for the win.

Patterson Mill 13, North Harford 0: Madison Knight struck out 12 batters in five innings, giving up two hits as Patterson Mill shut out North Harford. Dani Coombs hit a grand slam and freshman Savannah Reedy went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and a game-high five RBIs.

C. Milton Wright 18, Joppatowne 12: Every batter for C. Milton Wright had at least one hit in a slugfest victory, as Kaitlyn Williford hit for the cycle, going 5-for-5 with seven RBIs. Noelle Beaver and Veronica Ingold each had four-hit days for CMW, recording two RBI each.

River Hill 2, Wilde Lake 1: Lux Sheplee got the win in the circle for the Hawks, allowing eight hits and only one run. Kathleen Moaiorana got the Hawks going with a single, a stolen base and an RBI. Veronica Goode struck out seven for the Wildecats through six innings.

Dundalk 17, Chesapeake-BC 2: In the offensive explosion, Savannah Kelly led with a triple and four RBIs. Lilyian Hafner singled, doubled and drove in three.
