PBR Ocean City Seacrets Classic
June 2-4: Prepare to unleash the beast when the Professional Bull Riders bring the Ocean City Seacrets Classic back to town.
For three days, the top riders will show off their skills at hanging on for dear life on the back of a bucking bull. There will be food, drink, pyrotechnic displays and live music. Ocean City Air Show
June 10-11: If you have a need for speed, don’t miss the Ocean City Air Show. Military aircraft will perform dazzling feats of aerial acrobatics that will leave you stunned and breathless. Headlining the show this year are the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and the F-35 Lightning II Demo Team. Other performers include the F-18 Rhino Demo Team, Red Bull Air Force, Air Force Heritage Flight, L-39
Cold War Era Jet Demo, Navy Legacy Flight, UH-72A Lakota and more acts to be announced. You can witness these fighter craft, helicopters and aerial jump teams streak overhead from he beach and boardwalk. The event site extends from 13th Street to 17th Street on the beach. July 4th Music & Fireworks
July 4: Grab a lawn chair and search the skies overhead for the annual Independence Day Celebration. In addition to the fireworks display, there will be music. The annual summer celebration will be held at two locations: the first is Downtown on the Beach at North Division Street and the second is uptown at Northside Park. OC Beach Dance Party
July 10-Aug. 28: Get your party on at the Ocean City Dance Party. Local disc jockeys will play your favorite dance songs at Caroline Street Stage on the beach by the boardwalk. Come early with friends, a beach chair and blanket, and stake out a spot close to the stage. The free event runs Mondays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on July 10, 17, 24 and August 7, 14, 21, 28. White Marlin Open
Aug. 7-11: For half of a century, contestants have plied the ocean depths off Maryland’s coast in search of a prize-worthy billfish at the White Marlin Open. Billed as “the world’s largest and richest billfish tournament,” last year it drew 408 boats, 3,500 anglers and $8.6 million in prize money, including $4.3 million for the top prize. You can head to the docks to see the official weigh-ins on daily hauls at Harbour Island (14th Street and the Bay) from 4 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., or watch on the big screen from downtown at Marlin Fest, a festival celebration at 3rd & 4th Street Bayside. whitemarlinopen.com
Wine on the Beach
Sept. 8-9: What better way to enjoy the fading days of summer than with a full glass at Wine on the Beach at Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot, 809 South Atlantic Ave. Sample some of the best local wines, micro brews, local craft beers and domestic beers. Participants will receive a commemorative wine glass that can be used for sample pours. There will be live music and booths loaded with food and gifts. Oceans Calling Festival
Sept. 29 to Oct. 1: Over 40 musical artists will grace three stages on the boardwalk at Ocean City Inlet Beach, with singer-songwriters Jack Johnson and Alanis Morissette, John Mayer and alternative folk band The Lumineers each set to headline shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Other performances will be put on by indie pop band Peach Pit, singer and songwriter Sheryl Crow, rock band Weezer and O.A.R., the Rockville band that co-founded the festival.
Local food vendors will provide concessions for concertgoers, and chefs Robert Irvine and Amanda Freitag will give cooking demonstrations, hosted by actor Jason Biggs.
One-day and three-day general admission, VIP and platinum tickets will be available for purchase online, ranging from $135 for a single-day pass to $2,000 for three-day platinum access.
