Favre admits he has memory loss

-

Brett Favre told Washington radio station WSPZAM on Thursday that he fears he is experiencing symptoms related to concussions he suffered during his 20-year NFL career.

Favre’s concern about memory loss was raised in the interview in which he said the Rams reached out to him about playing for them.

Favre, 44, who said he is enjoying spending time with his family, said he thinks he is experiencing memory loss, when asked about concussions.

“I don’t remember my daughter playing soccer, playing youth soccer, one summer,” he said. “I don’t remember that. I’ve got a pretty good memory, and I have a tendency like we all do to say, ‘Where are my glasses?’ and they’re on your head. This was pretty shocking to me that I couldn’t remember my daughter playing youth soccer, just one summer, I think. I remember her playing basketball, I remember her playing volleyball, so I kind of think maybe she only played a game or two. I think she played eight. So that’s a little bit scary to me. For the first time in 44 years, that put a little fear in me.” Vick back in fold: Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is probable for Sunday’s game against the Giants and likely will start after dealing with a hamstring injury he suffered Oct. 6.

Vick practiced all week and has tested the hamstring at full speed after missing the last two games.

Nick Foles, who filled in for Vick, is ruled out because of a concussion he suffered in a 17-3 loss to the Cowboys last week. Fine mess: The NFL fined a total of five players for their actions in Sunday’s game between the Panthers and Rams.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Rams DE Chris Long was fined $15,750 for throwing a punch during a third-quarter scuffle.
