Navy women cruise to win in Patriot quarterfinal, 17-5
Mids’ Rheiner scores four goals against Holy Cross
Lindsay Rheiner scored a career-high four goals and the third-seeded Navy women’s lacrosse cruised past sixthseeded Holy Cross, 17-5, in a Patriot League quarterfinal Tuesday night at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
The Mids (13-4) advance to face second-seeded Colgate in Friday’s Patriot League semifinals at Loyola Maryland. The Crusaders fell to 4-14.
Navy took a 4-0 lead with 16:47 left in the half. Rheiner led the charge with three of the Mids’ first four goals. Senior midfielder Casey Browne added two assists and Morgan Young (Towson) had a goal and an assist during the run.
“This was the most calm that I have been on offense all year,” Rheiner said. “I wanted to make sure that we continued our run in the tournament and especially made these final two games at home good ones.”
BOSTON UNIVERSITY 8, LEHIGH 7: Ally Adams (Severna Park) scored twice, including the game-winner with 2:25 left to lift the host Terriers (8-8) over the Mountain Hawks (9-8) in a Patriot League quarterfinal.
Boston University advances to face host Loyola Maryland in Friday’s semifinal.
ST. MARY’S 17, FROSTBURG STATE 5: The host Seahawks (13-4) went on an 11-0 run in the second half to beat the Bobcats (9-8) in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.
Shelby Newman (Manchester Valley) had four goals for St. Mary’s, which faces host York at 2 p.m. in the CAC semifinals Saturday.
The win marks back-to-back victories over Frostburg State. The Seahawks beat the Bobcats, 17-10, in the regular-season finale on April 18.
Nation men
NO. 7 ALBANY 23, SIENA 7: The visiting Great Danes (12-2) trailed 1-0 for two minutes before scoring 18 goals in a row.
Seth Oakes scored four goals for Albany. The Saints fell to 5-8.
NO. 20 BUCKNELL 13, LEHIGH 8: The host Bison (9-5) beat the Mountain Hawks (7-9) in a Patriot League quarterfinal.

NO. 5 STONY BROOK 12, HOFSTRA 8: Courtney Murphy scored four goals and the visiting Seawolves (15-1) won their fourth straight.
Stony Brook extended its one-goal halftime lead by scoring the first three goals of the second half. Lindsey Alfano scored twice for the Pride (10-5).
