JUNE 1, 1991: In what is thought to be the longest lacrosse game in history, Mount Washington defeats Chesapeake, 15-14, in six overtimes and in 93-degree heat at Norris Field. Lou Delligatti’s goal wins it for Mount Washington, which advances to the U.S. Club Lacrosse Associatio­n championsh­ip game.

JUNE 6, 1980: Colts owner Robert Irsay; his wife, Harriet; and son, Jimmy, attend the 14th annual Council of Colt Corrals Convention in Ocean City and take part in the parade dubbed “Thanks For The Memories.” Within four years, Irsay moves the team to Indianapol­is.

JUNE 5, 1976: “I don’t like it; it bothers me,” Orioles slugger Reggie Jackson says after dropping a pop fly and being jeered at Memorial Stadium. Jackson, who held out for a month after being dealt to Baltimore in April, is hitting .219 with three home runs in 29 games.

JUNE4,1967: Orioles pitchers strike out 21 batters, a team record, in a 19-inning 7-5 victory over the Washington Senators at Memorial Stadium. Andy Etchebarre­n’s home run ends the longest game (by innings) in club history.

JUNE 2, 1963: “We didn’t come out here for nothing,” coach Cliff Anderson says after Maryland State (now UMES) wins the National Associatio­n of Intercolle­giate Athletics Track and Field Championsh­ips in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Hawks, who endured a 2,000-mile bus trip, are led by Russ Rogers, who wins three hurdles events and is named the meet’s outstandin­g athlete.

MAY 31, 1955: The Orioles’ Jim Wilson, a hard-luck right-hander, goes the distance in a 13-inning 2-1 loss to the Indians in Cleveland. For the year, Wilson will lead the seventh-place Orioles in wins (12) and losses (18).

JUNE 5, 1947: In a runaway, Ulcers leads from the start to win the annual Johns Hopkins Hospital Turtle Derby. “He put the sun at his back and headed for the shade,” The Sun reports. One of 153 entrants, Ulcers completes the 38-foot circular course on the hospital’s tennis courts in 54 seconds and receives the famed Kolostomy Cup filled with $50 in nickels.

JUNE 1, 1932: Outfielder Buzz Arlett hits four home runs — three left-handed, one right-handed – in the Orioles’ 14-13 victory at Reading. “The Buzzer” will repeat the feat against Reading on July 4 and finish the season with 54 homers and 144 RBIs while batting .339.

MAY 31, 1937: Bob Ferry, former Bullets center who played five years here and was the team’s general manager when Washington won the 1977-78 NBA championsh­ip.
