No. 1 Michigan State rolls to 10-0
Denzel Valentine had 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to help No. 1 Michigan State rout Maryland Eastern Shore 78-35 on Wednesday night in East Lansing, Mich.
The Spartans (10-0) are off to their best start since the 2000-01 season when they were defending national champions and won their first 12 games.
Dominique Elliott finished with 11 points for the Hawks (1-8). Kansas 92, Holy Cross 59: Wayne Selden Jr. had 15 points and Brannen Greene returned from suspension to score 14 as the No. 2 Jayhawks (7-1) rolled over the Crusaders (3-6).
Karl Charles had 12 points to lead Holy Cross. Kentucky 88, E. Kentucky 67: Alex Poythress had 21 points and 13 rebounds and Jamal Murray scored 16 points as the No. 5 Wildcats (8-1) pulled away from the Colonels.
Javontae Hawkins scored 19 points for EKU (7-3). Purdue 93, Howard 55: Caleb Swanigan had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the No. 11 Boilermakers past the Bison (6-4).
Kendall Stephens added 14 points for Purdue (10-0), which shot 50 percent and committed just six turnovers. Providence 66, Boston College 51: Rodney Bullock scored 17 points for the No. 15 Friars (9-1) in a win over the Eagles (3-6), who played their first game since several team members fell ill to a restaurant-related virus. Eli Carter scored 15 for BC. Arizona 85, Fresno State 72: Allonzo Trier scored 27 points, Ryan Anderson added 17 and the No. 13 Wildcats (8-1) pulled away late to beat the Bulldogs (6-3). Dayton 72, Vanderbilt 67: Kendall Pollard scored a season-high 21 points, and the Flyers (7-1) rallied from 16 points down late in the first half to upset the No. 21 Commodores (6-3). Dayton has beaten three teams from the Power Five conferences this season, with previous wins over Alabama and Iowa.
Wade Baldwin IV and Damian Jones scored 18 apiece for Vanderbilt.
