Mets: Closer Jeurys Familia stumbled for a second straight game, allowing two runs in the ninth inning in a 2-1 loss to the Rockies on Thursday. The Rockies, who scored on an error and wild pitch, ended Familia’s streak of 52 consecutive regularseason saves the night before. RHP Jordan Lyles got the win after pitching a scoreless eighth.

Cardinals: SS Aledmys Diaz homered, doubled and drove in three runs against childhood pal Jose Fernandez, helping the Cardinals beat the Marlins 5-4. Angels: Major League Baseball denied the Angels’ formal protest filed during their road loss against the Royals on Wednesday night. Chief Baseball Officer Joe Torre ruled on the protest. Scioscia said at the time he was “100 percent” certain the protest would be upheld because “it’s not a judgment call. This is a misinterpretation of a rule.”

Brewers: SS Hernan Perez hit a two-run homer, singled and scored the go-ahead run in the sixth as the Brewers defeated the Diamondbacks 6-4. RHP Zach Davies allowed six hit over 61⁄ innings and reliever Jeremy Jeffress earned his 24th save.

Rangers: OF Josh Hamilton said he is feeling no pain seven weeks after extensive surgery on his left knee and fully expects to be with the Rangers when they get to spring training. Chris Sale, pitching Thursday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, rejoined the White Sox earlier in the day.
