Nancy Germanos, rental agent and artist

Nancy M. Germanos, a former secretary and Ocean City condominiu­m manager who enjoyed painting seascapes, died of complicati­ons from diabetes Feb. 2 at Manor Care in Fairfax, Va. The Annapolis resident was 84. The daughter of Claude Giles, co-owner of Giles Food Market, and Mabel Giles, a homemaker, Nancy Marie Giles was born in Baltimore and raised in Pasadena and Glen Burnie.

After graduating from Glen Burnie High School, she went to work as a secretary at Westinghou­se Electric Corp. in Linthicum, where she met and fell in love with Emil Germanos, an aerospace engineer. The couple married in 1955.

Growing up, she spent time aboard the historic bugeye Florence Northam that her father owned and enjoyed sailing with his family on weekends around the Chesapeake Bay.

Mrs. Germanos worked as a rental agent and manager of several Ocean City condo- miniums that she and her husband owned, family members said.

She enjoyed acting in amateur theatrical­s and was an accomplish­ed watercolor­ist who liked painting maritime scenes.

Mrs. Germanos was a collector of teddy bears and other stuffed animals, and antique china. Graveside services will be held at noon Feb. 20 at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Mrs. Germanos is survived by three sons, Troy Germanos of Annapolis, Lance Germanos of Bridgevill­e, Del., and Dean Germanos of Miami Beach, Fla.; four daughters, Angela Germanos and Deseree Beam, both of Annapolis, Cheryl Suresh of Glen Burnie and Melanie Osborne of Ashburn, Va.; 12 grandchild­ren; and two great-grandchild­ren.
