Bobblehead­s, other promotions are set

Single-game tickets for the Orioles’ 2017 season go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m., and the team Thursday announced its fan promotions to go along with it.

This year’s promotions include the return of many popular staples — five Friday night postgame fireworks shows, five T-shirt giveaways, a pair of bobblehead­s, a new action figure of third baseman Manny Machado and a replica model of Camden Yards on its 25th anniversar­y.

Closer Zach Britton (July 1) and second baseman Jonathan Schoop (Aug. 5) will be immortaliz­ed in bobblehead form this year, with the first 25,000 fans ages 15 and older receiving them, while all fans at the game June 3 against the Boston Red Sox will get a Starting Lineup action figure of Machado.

All fans at the game Aug. 19 against the Los Angeles Angels will receive a replica of Camden Yards as part of the ongoing celebratio­n of the ballpark’s 25th anniversar­y, with more celebratio­ns to be announced at a later date.

Postgame fireworks will be held May19, June 16, July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 22, with T-shirt giveaways for all fans May 8, May 29, June 21, Aug. 1 and Sept. 4.

Other notable giveaways include an Orioles welcome mat April 22 for the first 20,000 fans ages 15 and older, a Maryland flag script jersey matching the one worn on the field May 20, a gray-scale cap for all fans ages 15 and older June 16, a set of four bottle-stoppers featuring the infield of Chris Davis, Schoop, J.J. Hardy and Machado to all fans over the age of 21 on July 22, and a knit cap for all fans Sept. 19.

Additional­ly, kids can run the bases after every Sunday home game, part of several initiative­s geared toward young fans.
