Ravens get 6th-round compensato­ry pick

The Ravens drafted offensive tackle Rick Wagner in 2013 with a fifth-round compensato­ry selection. He was a three-year starter for them before he departed last March to sign a lucrative free-agent deal with the Detroit Lions. Less than a year later, the Ravens were compensate­d for his departure, but not in the way they had hoped. Despite speculatio­n that the Ravens would receive an extra third-round pick for their 2017 free-agent losses, they were awarded just a sixth rounder in the 2018 draft. The NFL divvied out its compensato­ry selections Friday and the Ravens got only the one additional pick. FISHING: The 18th annual Lefty Kreh Tie Fest this weekend has a new venue and extended hours, a boon to anglers young and old. What will be missing, for the first time, is the event’s namesake, celebrated fisherman Lefty Kreh. Kreh, who will be 93 on Monday, is in hospice care in his home in Timonium and unable to attend the Tie Fest today and Sunday at Loews Annapolis Hotel. Admission is $10 per day, or $15 for both. Spanish league team Villarreal suspended D Ruben Semedo without pay after he was arrested and charged with attempted murder and robbery. Semedo, 23, also faces charges of assault, illegal detention and illegal possession of firearms.

A top official for USA Swimming who was part of an investigat­ion of a coach for sexual misconduct has resigned for not disclosing that she once kissed the coach. Susan Woessner was the senior director of Safe Sport for the national governing body. She says in 2007 she kissed Sean Hutchison, who was then a coach with the organizati­on. Hutchinson has been accused by ex-Olympic swimmer Ariana Kukors of sexual abuse.

Daria Kasatkina saved three match points before knocking out No. 2 seed Garbine Muguruza 3- 6, 7-6 (11), 6-1 to reach the Dubai Championsh­ips final.
