Turkey to sell 30 attack copters to Pakistan in $1.5 billion deal
ANKARA, Turkey — Turkey and Pakistan have reached an agreement for the sale of 30 Turkishmade attack helicopters in a deal that has been billed as Turkey’s largest single defense industry export, Turkey’s state-run news agency said Friday.
Anadolu Agency said the deal for the sale of Turkey’s T129 ATAK helicopters was signed between Turkish Aerospace Industries, TUSAS, and the Pakistan Defense Production Ministry.
Turkey would also provide logistics, spare parts, training and ammunition, Anadolu reported.
Turkish media reports put the value of the deal at about $1.5 billion.
Meanwhile, in Turkey’s Parliament, the assembly elected former Prime Minister Binali Yildirim as speaker. Yildirim, 62, was elected in a third round of balloting Thursday.
