Dulaney grad Busko earns berth in triathlon finals

Cockeysvil­le native Billy Busko, 54, qualified for the world championsh­ip in the 70.3 Ironman by placing second Sunday in the Ironman 70.3 Maine in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, in a time of 4 hours, 28 minutes, 31 seconds. He was 36th overall of 2,250. Busko qualified for next year’s world championsh­ip in Nice, France. Busko qualified for the Ironman World Championsh­ip in Kona, Hawaii, on Oct. 13 when the Dulaney graduate won his age group at Ironman Chattanoog­a last September. VARSITY BOYS SOCCER: Gilman opened its season with a 4-1 victory over Boys’ Latin on Thursday. Tyler Martinez, Ryan Martinez, Logan Paff and Luke Unger scored for the Greyhounds and Grant Farley recorded two saves. VARSITY GOLF: Will Creery shot 37 to help Fallston (221) to a victory over Bel Air (225) and Perryville (258) on Thursday. —
