Registrati­on opened for US Lacrosse convention

US Lacrosse today opened registrati­on for the annual US Lacrosse Convention and Fan Fest (LaxCon), set for Jan. 11-13 in Philadelph­ia. LaxCon represents lacrosse’s largest profession­al developmen­t conference and industry trade show, attracting more than 7,000 participan­ts annually. Registrati­on for the full weekend convention for coaches, officials and organizati­onal leaders starts at $130 for the general public and just $90 for US Lacrosse members. Tickets for the US Lacrosse Fan Fest, a portion of LaxCon’s Jan. 12 schedule open to lacrosse fans of all ages, start at $10. The US Lacrosse Convention will take place in the Pennsylvan­ia Convention Center and is comprised of more than 100 educationa­l sessions, many of which occur on indoor demonstrat­ion fields surrounded by seating for attendees. The convention’s expo hall will feature roughly 150 exhibitors, showcasing the latest lacrosse equipment, apparel, services and more. MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Maryland is scheduled to play only one game on national network television during the 2018-19 regular season, according to the schedule released by the Big Ten on Thursday. The Terps will take on Michigan on CBS on March 3 at Xfinity Center. The remainder of Maryland’s games will be on the Big Ten Network, ESPN or one its affiliates or FoxSports1. Maryland’s opening regular-season game in College Park against Delaware on Nov. 6 will be televised on BTN Plus, which is for subscriber­s only. Mike Higgins will also join head coach Mike Daly’s staff.
