Loyola grad Garvin added to 49ers roster

-

Loyola Blakefield graduate Terence Garvin was signed by the San Francisco 49ers to bolster their linebacking corps. The five-year NFL veteran made three starts last season with the Seattle Seahawks. Garvin, 6-foot-3 and 242 pounds, has been primarily a special teams player after entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent. RAIDERS: Hereford graduate Andrew DePaola’s first season with the Oakland Raiders lasted just one play. The long snapper was placed on injured reserve Wednesday after tearing his ACL on the Raiders first punt Monday against the Los Angeles Rams Monday night. To replace him the Raiders signed long snapper Trent Sieg, an undrafted rookie out of Colorado State who was in the Ravens camp this summer. TEXANS: According to a report by the Houston Chronicle, the Texans will sign former Ravens cornerback Shareece Wright.
