Woman who helped kidnap Utah teen freed from prison

DRAPER, Utah — A woman who helped kidnap Elizabeth Smart when she was 14 and stood by as the Utah girl was sexually assaulted was released from prison Wednesday after 15 years amid concerns that she might still be a threat to other young people.

Wanda Barzee, 72, left the state prison in Draper, avoiding a throng of reporters gathered outside.
