Mount St. Joe’s Bishop commits to play at LSU

-

Mount Saint Joseph basketball star James Bishop, an All-Metro, second-team guard as a junior, has made a commitment to play for LSU. Set to become a four-year varsity player this year, the 6-foot-2 Bishop averaged 18 points per game last season in his second as a starter for the Gaels. He’s rated as a four-star prospect by ESPN. “James has worked extremely hard on his game and he takes care of business as a student to put himself in this position. He is a high level shooter and scorer,” Mount Saint Joe coach Pat Clatchey said. LSU, under coach Will Wade, went18-15 last season and finished ninth in the Southeastern Conference with an 8-10 mark. It’s the third straight year that Mount Saint Joseph has produced a high Division I player, with Daryll Morsell and Jalen Smith — both at Maryland — preceding Bishop.
