Chesapeake-AA tops River Hill in field hockey
Georgia Spangler netted two goals, including the second in overtime off assists from Shelby Bennoit and Rachel Fleig on a corner, to lift No. 5 Chesapeake-AA to a 2-1 victory over River Hill in field hockey Wednesday.
Fleig was credited with another second assist, while Hannah McKeon was credited with the primary assist on the first goal for Chesapeake (5-2).
Eve Vickery made eight saves, while her counterpart from the Hawks (4-4), Caroline Karl, turned aside 16 shots for River Hill.
NO. 12 WESTMINSTER 4, FRANCIS SCOTT KEY 2: Veronica Maring had a goal and two assists for the visiting Owls (6-1, 2-0 county). Elena Tartaglia added a goal and an assist.
Suzanne Edwards scored for the Eagles (3-1, 0-1).

HUNTINGTOWN 2, OLD MILL 1, OT: Kaiya Sabur scored the Patriots’ lone goal off an assist from Erin Osborne, but host Old Mill (2-5) lost in overtime.
Kenley Zeruto and Alexa Zeruta scored for the Hurricanes (1-1).
