Witness to road rage incident is shot

A woman is in “very serious” condition after being shot during a road-rage incident on the Beltway, according to Baltimore County police. The incident took place just after noon on Sunday, in the inner loop of Interstate 695 near the Harford Road exit. Police say the drivers of two other vehicles — a white van and a black Nissan — were arguing, when a third vehicle, a 2018 Subaru Outback, attempted to pass them. Police said that either a passenger or driver of the Nissan then fired a single shot in the direction of the Subaru, which hit the car’s driver, a 58-year-old woman. Police say the Nissan may have been an Altima or Maxima from the early 2000s, with a male driver and male passenger. The woman was treated at the scene and taken to the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She “remains in very serious condition” with life-threatenin­g injuries, according to police. Police are seeking witnesses and video camera footage that may exist in the area. violence,” the Police Department said in a news release.
