Baltimore Sun

Sun’s anti-GOP tilt is obvious and unhelpful

- William T. Define, Lutherville

When, if ever, will The Baltimore Sun strike a more balanced tone? When will its editorial board hire someone who can and will dispassionately examine and discuss an issue?

The subhead under your recent editorial, “Trump’s true colors” (Oct. 4), says it all when you refer to Judge Brett Kavanaugh as “flawed” even before your editorial starts. You go on to rail about the “tone” of Mr. Kavanaugh’s comments and his alleged drinking as a student, conveniently overlooking the many and varied contributions he has since made to society as a judge, a professor and a coach.

You fail to critically examine the many inconsistencies in Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony. You simply choose to overlook the total lack of corroboration of any of her accusations. You accept them as gospel truth simply because they were made and because others have clearly been victims of sexual abuse.

Your editorials would carry more weight if less partisan. You do the reputation of a once-great paper no favors by your current slanted stances against all things conservative and all elected officeholders who identify themselves as Republican.
