-

The second-ranked Maryland field hockey team fell at No. 7 Penn State, 3-1, ending the Terps’ 13game winning streak. The Nittany Lions (9-3, 4-1 Big Ten) struck first when Abby Myers got behind the defense and scored 24 minutes into the game. Penn State added its second goal when Anna Simon scored off a penalty corner in the 51st minute. Five minutes later, the Nittany Lions added their third goal when Moira Putsch deflected in a shot off another penalty corner. With 4:29 to go, junior Nike Lorenz asked for a review of a play inside the circle and the Terps (13-1, 4-1) were awarded a penalty stroke. Lorenz buried the penalty shot.
