Center Club completes first phase of renovations
The Center Club, a members-only business and dining club in the Transamerica Tower at 100 Light St., said Monday it has finished the first phase of its planned $2.5 million renovations.
The club said in March it planned to stay on the tower’s 15th and 16th floors and renovate as part of a 10-year lease extension with building owner Corporate Office Properties Trust. The expansion was designed to attract downtown residents from the city’s business district while serving a growing membership.
“These renovations represent the first chapter in a new and innovative era for The Center Club,” said Patricia J. “PJ” Mitchell, president of the club’s board of governors.
The remodeled space has higher ceilings and fewer walls and offers views of downtown and the Inner Harbor. It can accommodate 350 people or be used for smaller meeting space. It also includes a newly built lounge.
The second stage of renovations will start next year and include upgrades to the 15th-floor dining room, bar and lounge.
