Grande, Davidson call off engagement

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s whirlwind romance may be over. The celebrity couple have split and called off the engagement, sources told TMZ.

“It was way too much too soon,” a source told People. “It’s not shocking to anyone.”

The 25-year-old singer and 24-year-old “Saturday Night Live” funnyman went public in late May and were engaged less than a few weeks later after Davidson popped the question. Grande said in August that the two planned to tie the knot in 2019.

On Saturday, Grande backed out last-minute from performing at F--- Cancer’s inaugural Barbara Berlanti Heroes fundraising gala while manager Scooter Braun said she needs time to heal, seemingly after ex-boyfriend Mac Miller’s death.

“One of the most amazing things about this organization is that they help people when they’re having the worst moments in their life, and they give sympathy and a calm nature to people in need in those moments,” Braun said at the event. “Someone I’m very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she’s going through, she couldn’t be here today.”

Grande also canceled her appearance on last month’s “SNL” season premiere, citing “emotional reasons.” Reps for Grande and Davidson didn’t immediately return requests for comment.
