Kittleman has worked hard for Ellicott City

- Tanya Lopez, Ellicott City

As a resident of Ellicott City, I’ve seen what has happened to our beloved Main Street. I’ve also seen how County Executive Allan Kittleman has led the residents, business owners and property owners out of despair (“New report calls on Howard to pause plans to raze historic Ellicott City buildings,” Oct. 11).

When all seemed lost, he was there with a shoulder to cry on. Then he was there with his boots on, shirt sleeves rolled up and a shovel in hand to help. He made sure every federal, state and county assistance program was standing at the ready to provide assistance. He shed tears of anguish and joy right beside us. It was never easy for us or for him, but he was always there even if it was to be the brunt of someone’s anger.

I will never forget what he did for our city and what he’s doing again. He’s earned my vote, my family’s votes, and hundreds more like me who appreciate everything he’s done for us.
