The senior forward came up big in the season’s biggest game to date, scoring all three goals as the then-No. 2 Dons came from behind to beat No. 3 McDonogh, 3-2, on Oct. 9. In a battle for first place in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference, the host Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead midway through the first half before Peterson went to work. After getting the Dons close with a goal late in the first half, he tied the game with 46 seconds left in regulation and then provided the game-winning goal five minutes into the first overtime. Loyola Blakefield closed out the week with a win against then-No. 13 Archbishop Curley to improve to 11-0 overall and 10-0 in conference play. Peterson, a three-year varsity player and two-year starter, has seven goals and four assists on the season.
