Carroll man badly hurt in motorcycle crash

A Westminster man was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash on Saturday. Deputies from the Carroll County sheriff’s office, with fire and emergency medical personnel units, were dispatched to the 400 Block of John Owings Road at 2:31p.m. and located a motorcycle off the roadway on its side. The preliminary investigation revealed the driver, identified as Carl David Lehr, 56, from Westminster, was traveling east when the motorcycle left the roadway, traveling for a short distance before re-entering the road, where it slid across the roadway onto the opposite shoulder, police said. Lehr was taken with serious injuries to Maryland Shock Trauma Center by Maryland State Police helicopter .
