Former S. River student gets 25-year prison term

A former senior at South River High School was sentenced to 25 years in prison Monday for striking a 16-year-old with his car over stolen drugs. Nicholas Kyle Hoffman, now18, of Davidsonvi­lle was sentenced by Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Stacy McCormack to life in prison during a hearing in Annapolis. She suspended all but 25 years. Hoffman was charged as an adult with attempted murder in November after police said officers found a teenager suffering severe injuries in Edgewater who was intentiona­lly struck by Hoffman.
