Capital Gazette public defender may be sidelined
The public defender representing the Capital Gazette shooting suspect may step away from the case due to health concerns. Families of the shooting victims received an email Tuesday informing them of two postponements due to public defender Bill Davis’ health concerns, according to the email. Depending on the results of a forthcoming visit with a doctor, Davis might have to step away from the case. He is representing the man accused of killing Gerald Fischman, Wendi Winters, John McNamara, Rebecca Smith and Rob Hiaasen on June 28.
