Vote ‘yes’ on Md.’s Question 1

- Joseph Cronyn, Towson

My grandson attends a Baltimore County public school and my son teaches in a Baltimore City public school. They deserve the strongest possible support from Maryland taxpayers in our effort to achieve a world class public education system — critical for maintaining a world class economy in the state. Voting “yes” on Question 1 will protect casino revenues as supplemental funding for pre-K to 12 education (“For Question 1, the casino lockbox amendment (sort of ),” Oct. 19). Approval of Question 1 will make a significant down payment toward the costs of the Kirwan Commission’s education recommendations to be seen later this year. I urge all voters to “yes” vote on Question 1 next Tuesday.
