Howard police probing fatal hit-and-run in Elkridge

Howard County police are investigating a hit-andrun crash that killed a pedestrian in Elkridge. At 7:19 p.m. Tuesday, Huma Rani Isfahani, 54, of Laurel was crossing the 6800 block of Dorsey Road when she was struck by a dump truck traveling east toward Anne Arundel County. The truck fled and Isfahani was pronounced dead at the scene. The dump truck was captured on video by a doorbell camera at a nearby residence just after the collision; it is described as a commercial dump truck with a white cab pulling a trailer with either a bobcat or similar piece of equipment on board. Thetruck is believed to be missing a piece of front bumper. Police are releasing the video and asking anyone who recognizes the vehicle to call 911.
