Shooting is first homicide in Annapolis this year
Annapolis police said a man died after being shot on Bens Drive in front of his home Tuesday night. It was the city’s first homicide of 2018. Sgt. Amy Miguez, a city police spokeswoman, said Kory Johnson, 27, of Annapolis died after he was shot in the torso. Officers responded to the scene at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday and found Johnson shot in front of his apartment in Bay Ridge Gardens. He was immediately transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Miguez said the department believes Johnson was targeted, but that it’s not clear why. Police have not arrested a suspect.
