Brees passes Favre as Saints cruise

Drew Brees threw three touchdown passes in the first half, moving ahead of Hall of Famer Brett Favre for second place on the career list, and the Saints routed the Bengals 51-41 in Cincinnati for their eighth straight victory.

Brees led the Saints to touchdowns on all five first-half possession­s with a nearly perfect performanc­e — only two incompleti­ons. His 17-yard TD to Michael Thomas with 2 seconds left in the half gave him 509 career touchdown passes, one more than Favre.

The Bengals (5-4) are the first Super Bowl era team to give up 500 yards in three straight games.

The Bengals matched the most lopsided defeat in franchise history. Rams 36, Seahawks 31: Jared Goff passed for 318 yards and two TDs and Todd Gurley ran for 120 yards to help the Rams bounce back from their first loss of the season. Russell Wilson threw three TD passes and ran for 92 yards in the loss. Titans 34, Patriots 10: Marcus Mariota threw two TD passes and Derrick Henry ran for a pair of scores to lead the Titans to home victory. The Titans had three sacks of Tom Brady, who started his 300th career game. QB Drew Brees moved into second on the all-time TD passes list with his 509th during the Saints’ victory. Browns 28, Falcons 16: Baker Mayfield threw a career-high three TD passes and Nick Chubb had a team-record 92-yard rushing TD as the Browns halted a four-game skid. Colts 29, Jaguars 26: Andrew Luck threw three TD passes and TE Eric Ebron had three total TDs to lead the Colts to a third win in a row and hand the Jags a fifth straight loss. Packers 31, Dolphins 12: Aaron Jones ran for career highs of 145 yards and two scores and Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams connected for two TDpasses to lead the Packers at home. Chargers 20, Raiders 6: Philip Rivers threw a pair of TD passes, Melvin Gordon gained 165 yards as the Chargers won their sixth game in a row. The Raiders lost their fifth straight by at least 14 points. Bears 34, Lions 22: Mitch Trubisky threw for 355 yards and three TDs, including two to Allen Robinson, and the NFC North-leading Bears snapped a 10-game skid against division opponents. Khalil Mack had two of the Bears’ six sacks. Chiefs 26, Cardinals 14: Patrick Mahomes threw for 249 yards and tossed two TDs to Tyreek Hill. Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald passed Hall of Famer Terrell Owens for No. 2 on the all-time receiving yardage list. Bills 41, Jets 10: Reserve QB Matt Barkley threw two TD passes, including one to offensive tackle Dion Dawkins, and LeSean McCoy ran for 113 yards and a pair of scores to help the Bulls snap a four-game skid and send the Jets to a fourth straight loss. Redskins 16, Buccaneers 3: Alex Smith threw for 178 yards and a score, and Dustin Hopkins kicked three FGs for the Redskins, who forced four turnovers in the win. Cowboys at Eagles: The Cowboys entered the game 0-4 on the road. The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles were 17-5 at home under coach Doug Pederson.
