Leg injury sends LeVert to hospital

Nets guard Caris LeVert sustained what appeared to be a severe right leg injury during the second quarter of Nets’ 120-113 loss to the Timberwolv­es on Monday night in Minneapoli­s and was taken to a hospital.

LeVert was racing back to try to block a shot and his leg bent awkwardly when he landed. He was taken off the court on a stretcher with some teammates in tears.

Anthony Davis scored 25 points and grabbed season-high 20 rebounds to help the Pelicans end the Raptors’ six-game win streak with a 126-110 victory in Toronto. It was the Raptors’ first home loss. ... Stephen Curry sat out the Warriors’ game against the Clippers on Monday and also will miss Tuesday’s game against the Hawks. Hehad missed Saturday’s win over the Nets after suffering a left groin strain Thursday. ... The Bulls expect F Lauri Markkanen to miss more time than anticipate­d because of a left elbow injury he suffered during the preseason. Markkanen likely will miss nine to 11 weeks. The Bulls initially thought he would be out six to eight weeks.
