Girl, 5, shot, injured in West Baltimore

A 5-year-old girl was injured in a shooting Monday evening in West Baltimore. Police said she was alert and talking to doctors. The girl was shot on the 1000 block of McKean Ave. around 6:20 pm. Doretha Carpenter, who said she was the girl’s godmother, said the girl, who had just turned 5, had been on her way to the corner store when the shots were fired.
