The senior linebacker-tight end was a force on defense in helping the No. 6 Indians get past Huntingtown, 21-10, in Friday’s Class 3A state semifinal. Thompson finished with eight tackles and added a sack and caused fumble as the Indians improved to 11-2 on the season. He also caught two passes for 12 yards on offense. Franklin will play Linganore for the 3A title on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. This season, Thompson has 80 tackles — 56 of them solo — with 41⁄ sacks and he has forced two fumbles. At tight end, the Sacred Heart commit has hauled in 18 catches for 193 yards and four touchdowns.
