Korver sent to Jazz for Burks, 2 picks

-

A person familiar with the deal says the Cavaliers have agreed to trade veteran forward Kyle Korver to the Jazz.

Korver, one of the best long-distance shooters in NBA history, is going to the Jazz in exchange for guard Alec Burks and two future second-round draft picks, said the person who spoke Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the swap has to be approved by the NBA.

ESPN first reported the swap.

Korver, 37, is going back to Utah, where he played from 2007-10. He became expendable this season as the Cavs are in rebuilding mode. Korver, who joined the Cavs in 2017, had been on the trading block for most of the season and had drawn interest from several teams. The Cavs are also looking to move forward J.R. Smith.

Russell Westbrook moved into a tie for third place on the NBA list for triple-doubles with 23 points, 19 rebounds and 15 assists as the Thunder beat the Cavaliers 100-83. Westbrook’s triple-double was his third this season and the 107th of his career, matching Jason Kidd. AP
