Howard out 2-3 months after surgery
Wizards center Dwight Howard will miss at least two to three months after undergoing spinal surgery to relieve pain in his glutes.
Howard underwent a lumbar microdiscotemy Friday and will be re-evaluated in two to three months. Doctors determined a herniated disk was causing Howard’s gluteal pain and nerve irritation.
Howard, 32, had missed the last five games after aggravating the injury, which also caused him to sit out training camp and the first seven games of the season.
Pacers G Victor Oladipo, who has missed six games with a sore right knee, is expected to return to the lineup in the near future, ESPN reported. ... Thunder G Andre Roberson will miss at least another six weeks after an MRI showed a small avulsion fracture in his left knee. Roberson suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in January. He had hoped to return in December. ... 76ers G Markelle Fultz will continue to see specialists for a lingering shoulder injury. Fultz has missed five straight games.
