Howard out 2-3 months after surgery

Wizards center Dwight Howard will miss at least two to three months after undergoing spinal surgery to relieve pain in his glutes.

Howard underwent a lumbar microdisco­temy Friday and will be re-evaluated in two to three months. Doctors determined a herniated disk was causing Howard’s gluteal pain and nerve irritation.

Howard, 32, had missed the last five games after aggravatin­g the injury, which also caused him to sit out training camp and the first seven games of the season.

Pacers G Victor Oladipo, who has missed six games with a sore right knee, is expected to return to the lineup in the near future, ESPN reported. ... Thunder G Andre Roberson will miss at least another six weeks after an MRI showed a small avulsion fracture in his left knee. Roberson suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in January. He had hoped to return in December. ... 76ers G Markelle Fultz will continue to see specialist­s for a lingering shoulder injury. Fultz has missed five straight games.
