The junior kicker made the most of the Indians’ final play of the season, connecting on a 30-yard field goal as time expired for a 17-14 win over Linganore in the Class 3A state title game Thursday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. After Linganore tied the game at 14, the Indians got the ball back on the 35-yard line with 4:44 to play and drove to the Lancers’ 13 before calling timeout with two seconds left. After the Lancers called timeout to try to ice Spath, he stayed poised and split the uprights for the title-clinching points. Earlier in the game, Spath hit two extra-point attempts. For the season, Spath made four of seven field-goal attempts with a long of 37 yards.
