COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray apologized for antigay tweets posted to his Twitter account several years ago, when he was 14 and 15. The tweets have since been deleted from the account of the 21-year-old Oklahoma QB. ... Coach Jim Harbaugh told ESPN that he will remain at Michigan. The former 49ers coach reportedly was a potential candidate for jobs with the Packers and Browns. ... Iowa State and coach Matt Campbell agreed to a contract extension that runs through 2024. Campbell was named the Big 12 coach of the year this season and last season. As part of the agreement, Campbell’s coaching and support staff will get a collective $1 million raise. Other terms of the deal weren’t available. ... UCLA promoted Justin Frye to offensive coordinato­r for next season. Frye was the offensive line coach while head coach Chip Kelly went without an offensive coordinato­r during his first season. ... TCU sophomore QB Shawn Robinson will transfer, ESPN reported. Robinson started the first seven games this season before suffering an undisclose­d season-ending injury. GOLF: Patton Kizzire and Brian Harman secured a one-stroke victory at the QBE Shootout in Naples, Fla. Kizzire and Harman shot an 11-under 61 in the betterball final round to finish at 30-under 197. ... Former British Open champ Louis Oosthuizen shot a final-round 4-under 67 to claim a six-stroke victory at the South African Open in Johannesbu­rg.

SKIING: Mikaela Shiffrin won her third straight World Cup event, beating Petra Vlhova of Slovakia by 0.11 seconds in the head-to-head final of parallel slalom in St. Moritz, Switzerlan­d. Shiffrin also won the super-G Saturday and last weekend at Lake Louise, Canada. ... The World Cup men’s slalom in Val d’Isere, France was canceled due to strong winds.

SOCCER: Gareth Bale scored early in the first half and Real Madrid held on for a 1-0 victory over host Huesca. With the win, Madrid moved into fourth in La Liga1. ... River Plate won the Copa Libertador­es after beating rival Boca Juniors 3-1 in extra time in Madrid to take the title 5-3 on aggregate. ... AC Milan sporting director Leonardo said Zlatan Ibrahimovi­c will remain at the Los Angeles Galaxy of MLS. Milan had been trying to bring back the 37-year-old on a loan from the Galaxy. ... Amar Sejdic scored on a penalty kick in the 57th minute and Maryland held off Akron 1-0 in Santa Barbara, Calif., to win its fourth NCAA men’s championsh­ip.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Jenna Allen scored 27 points to help Michigan State beat No. 3 Oregon 88-82 in East Lansing, Mich. It was the Ducks’ first loss this season.
